Coming Attractions
With summer winding to its close, the time has come to take a look at the most anticipated films of the fall. From blockbusters like Breaking Dawn to Oscar hopefuls such as Moneyball and The Ides of March, here are the sweetest flicks worth checking out.
'Drive'
Crashing into theaters September 16, Drive is a 100 minute long thrill ride. Starring Ryan Gosling and Carey Mulligan, the film follows around a Hollywood stunt man who moonlights as a wheelman. Things get more than a little crazy after he discovers a bounty's out on his head due to a heist gone bad.'The Ides of March'
As the writer, director and star of the film, George Clooney has a lot riding on The Ides of March. Winning favorable early reviews and an award no one's ever heard of at the 68th Venice Film Festival, the political drama has Oscar hopeful written all over it.'Moneyball'
Ryan Gosling stars in Drive and The Ides of March, while Philip Seymor Hoffman lends his talents to both The Ides of March and Moneyball. If you're wondering why only a handful of actors keep showing up in the same films, we don't have an answer. But we can say this: go seeBrad Pitt's latest movie.
'Abduction'
On November 18, millions of teenage girls around the world will watch Taylor Lautner in Breaking Dawn. On September 23, far fewer people will turn out to catch the guy in Abduction, an action-drama centered around a young man with large biceps who must uncover the truth about his life.'50/50'
Starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Ashley Greene and Seth Rogen, 50/50 has nothing to do with mixed soda drinks, and everything to do with cancer. But yet, we promise the film -- which hits theatesr September 30 and follows around a young man as he struggles to beat the disease -- has plenty of comedic moments.'Tower Heist'
Will Eddie Murphy finally star in a legitimately good comedy? We won't know until Tower Heist hits theaters on November 4. But with an ensemble cast including Ben Stiller, Matthew Broderick and Casey Affleck along for the ride, the actor should have plenty of support.'Footloose'
The worst part about the upcoming remake of Footloose: Kevin Bacon makes no appearance. The best part: we get to see the incredibly sexy Julianne Hough instead. If you love dancing, vintage cars and shots of Dennis Quaid looking perturbed, go see this film. 'Breaking Dawn'
After camping out and re-reading the book fifty times over, Twilight fans will finally get what they want on November 18: the release of Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart's hugely antcipated Breaking Dawn. It doesn't even matter whether or not the film's any good. Millions will show up to see part one of the final installment.'The Muppets'
Written, directed and starring Jason Segel, the The Muppets hits theaters November 23. Can you think of any better way to celebrate Thanksgiving than to watch your favorite puppets take on an oil tycoon while Amy Adams and Zach Galifianakis make silly jokes in the background?'Real Steel'
While we wish Hugh Jackman could play Wolverine for the rest of his life, the man likes to diversify his roles. If you want to witness a CGI re-enactment of your favorite Rock 'Em Sock'Em moments, then go see this futuristic boxing movie.
